This was 7th NCL cruise and by far the worst experience during embarkation via Vancouver terminal. The process of boarding this ship was like a cattle drive! My husband and I paid over $15,000 (including shore excursions and pre-paid gratuities ) for a penthouse suite which allowed for Butler and Concierge ( and most importantly priority boarding) a must for me after suffering a serious injury several years ago! Was told by "FOUR" NCL terminal folks that I was NOT able to use Priority boarding as I was only a "GOLD" Latitudes member and that regardless of what my PRIORITY tags said I was FORCED by 4 people to stand in line with some 1500 other guests waiting to board the ship! By the time we reached the 5th NCL person I was fit to be tied and needed pain medication! TOTALLY CRAPPY CUSTOMER SERVICE PRIOR TO BOARDING! Both the Concierge & Cruise Director shocked to hear about the events trying to get on the ship and stated we never should have been told to wait in line that PRIORITY BOARDING MEANS PRIORITY BOARDING and has nothing to do with your latitudes status! Cabin was fine but felt the post in middle of room blocking view was sad as Alaska is simply amazing (our 4th time on NCL to Alaska ). Food was not nearly as good as ships like the Pearl or Dawn was average food ( except Cagney's and Tappenyaki (sorry spelling ) both AMAZING experiences! EXCELLENT shore excursion options for all budgets Hovercraft to Taku Glacier by far our favorite! Denali by rail GREAT!
Will we cruise NCL again; yes for sure. Will we ever stand in a line again like in Vancouver not a chance!
great cabin except the post in the middle of the room which blocked the view from the sliding glass door. Bathroom/dressing area accounted for almost 50% of the cabin space.
