This is my first CC review, so bear with me. I’m a ‘detail’ person, so I’ll try to give as much info as I can without being ridiculous.
I have been on a few cruises (NCL, Carnival), but this was my first trip with Celebrity. My husband’s company wide vacation is always the week of July 4th, so sometimes the cruises available are not that great. This year, my travel agent suggested 2 cruises for us: 1 with Carnival and 1 with Celebrity (the 2 that fit our budget and itinerary the best). After getting us a discount with Celebrity, we ended up with a balcony room for cheaper than an inside room on Carnival, so it was a no brainer to go with Celebrity.
We flew into Miami (first time for both of us) and got a taxi to the Hampton Inn/Bricknell-Downtown. The taxi was $33 plus $2 tip. The hotel was in a GREAT location: TONS of restaurants within walking distance (totally safe) and shopping was nearby for last minute things (Publix, Walgreens). The hotel was REALLY nice and we got a complimentary upgrade to the Elite Floor for being Hilton Honors. We got an UBER to the port and it was only $21.
The cabin had plenty of room (although never enough outlets). The bed was comfy, plenty of stations on the TV and lots of free movies to watch. The room was cool enough (but could have been colder).
We just walked around our hotel to eat and pick up last minute items at Publix. Maybe next time we will come in earlier to explore.
It was HOT AS FIRE here. I'm from the south, so i'm used to hot, but this was insanely hot. We did our own thing here (Hemingway house, southernmost point, Mel Fischer).
