Our family was planning on going on this cruise and we decided to join them. We are experienced cruisers, all of them with Royal Caribbean. It was great to see this class of ship (never been on Oasis until now). The shows are fantastic, specially Mamma Mia! I love getting to talk to the performers during the time we are given with a few of them. The ship is very kid-friendly since they have some of the DreamWorks characters popping up on the Royal Promenade at all times.

There are a few downsides to the ship. I love doing the trivia on a daily basis but it is located right next to the Rising Tide bar is right next to the Schooner bar (where most trivia is held) and it has a water fountain feature, which is fairly loud if you aren't sitting close to the speakers.

Also, the departure at Ft. Lauderdale was fairly messy (granted it rained for a bit) but we were directed from one place to another while waiting to be picked up. That pier is just too small for that size ship.

Port Reviews

Labadee

I recommend going towards the swim-up bar early so that you get a good spot, some shade and enjoy the beach. It is a bit rocky but worth to jump in and swim around a bit. I found the zip-line way too expensive, so I didn't do it, but people seemed to have fun at it... Just remember to bring a t-shirt and closed-toed shoes or you won't be able to ride it.

San Juan

We have been to San Juan a couple of times, so we just walked around the fort, the ship docked in Old San Juan, so it was very easy to walk everywhere. If you haven't been to San Juan before, highly recommend a tour. Otherwise, just sit down at a restaurant for lunch and have some mofongo :)

St. Maarten

Just took a water taxi to a nearby beach, enjoyed some beers, sun, chairs ($10 each), with umbrella, great service! Food is OK and a bit expensive but comparable to most Caribbean islands... I heard many other passengers that went to Orient Beach, which we may do next time.

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Onboarding experience was fine, they always do a good job at it. On disembarking, it was a bit messy due to some rain. They weren't very well organized, a couple of signs regarding where to be picked up by a car would be nice.
