We chose this cruise for the ports as there were quite a few we had not been to previously. We particularly wanted to go to Cinque Terre which we visited from Livorno. We also had the opportunity to have an overnight in Lisbon - a fabulous city.

We found both the food and the service outstanding. The buffet was so good that we never went to the main dining room in the evenings. However we tried all the speciality restaurants. Our favourite was Red Ginger which we booked twice. We also loved Jacques - the French restaurant. All these were included in the cruise fare but needed to be booked in advance. However we did have breakfast in the main dining room as the service was so good.

One criticism of the food was the in room breakfast. We only had this once and did not really enjoy it.

Overall this was a very enjoyable cruise.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View
Cabin C 7067

Large cabin with plenty of storage. It was lovely to have both a bath and a separate shower.

This was a deluxe seavie cabin with full length windows - almost like French doors but they didn't d not open. As this cruise was so port inrensive we did not feel the lack of a balcony. We would have preferred one a little nearer the centre as there was a small obstruction to the view from the balcony overhang next door but we did not really spend much time there anyway.

The cabin steward -David was very obliging and friendly and kept the cabin very clean.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

Private Tour

Spent the day and evening going round on tram 28. Then we went up the famous Victorian lift with great views.

Alcazar

Picked up promptly at the quay and drove to Seville. There we went to see the Spanish pavilion, had a walking tour then visited the Alcazar. We did not manage the Cathedral as the queues were too long.

Cartagena (Spain)

Went with Spain day tours to Murcia, a lovely city. We were then given a short tour of Cartagena.

Malaga

We wandered around town as we needed a break from the hectic schedule.

Island Tour

Did not like San Antonio but enjoyed the rest of the island. We had a lovely meal in Portimax but would have liked more time there.

This was the main reason for taking this cruise. It is a wonderful place.

Monaco (Monte Carlo)

Took the local bus to Menton which had a decent if pebbly beach. Had planned to go to Eze but the bus did not turn up.
