Second time travelling with Royal Caribbean (though first time was almost 20 years ago). We left out of Cape Canaveral in Orlando. If you need a ride from the airport to the ship, we use the company "Smart Two" to shuttle us. We highly recommend them. Excellent service! Very friendly and accommodating. Cheaper than going through the cruise line. We found them on the internet with a 5 star rating and great reviews....they did not disappoint. Back to the cruise itself: the great quality remained the same with RC. Wonderful experience. Staff aboard were friendly and attentive all around the ship and seemed very well trained. Food was excellent in Windjammer Café and American Icon supper dining. . We had a free voucher to try one of the specialty restaurants and went to Chops Grill. Excellent service and fillet mignon but the rest we didn't care for as much. Glad we didn't have to pay for it, wouldn't have been wort the extra $$$. Traveled with family. My 2 teenage boys (13 & 16) who were first time cruisers loved the experience. There was so much activities offered for teens and adults alike, though we didn't have time to do everything we wanted too. My aunt and uncle were with us (and have cruised over 15 times). From their experience, they've pretty much done everything. Excursions are quite expensive (most times twice the price) if you go through the cruise ship. We just hopped into the taxis on each island and went to the local beaches. In Bahamas, Nassau, we went to Junkanoo beach (a first for them). It was just okay. We got a great drink deal with our set up but there were no slushy drinks, tropical drinks on the rocks. The beach was a little rough on the feet (rocks and shells) but the water was awesome! In St. Thomas, we went to Coki beach. Get there early (as we did) because it gets quite busy. Great beach otherwise. Shout out to our beach server Wendy who says "don't you worry baby love, I'm gonna take good care of you" was great! In St. Marteen, we went to Orient bay beach and parked ourselves close to the Binkini Beach Restaurant. Order the rum runner slushy drinks...they were soooo good! Loved it there! Great sand and water, just beautiful. We parasailed and rode the seadoo there too. Great time.

Cruising is expensive so we won't be doing it often. But if you have a chance to do it, go for it! Oh one last thing...my aunt and uncle used to love going with the Carnival cruise line but have switched to Royal Caribbean International because the quality of entertainment and food is much better (rates them as a 4-5 star experience)They feel Carnival (when they went the last couple of times...last time in February 2017), has gone down to a 3 star experience.
