We are fortunate to travel every few months all over the world and try many different cruises and travel experiences. To date we have been on Princess, Holland America, Azamara, Celebrity, Carnival, Crystal and many other ocean and river cruises. This was our first time on Cunard (sailing) and we were excited to experience this legendary 175 year old company.

Well the excitement ended not too long after boarding when it was very evident that the crew on Queen Elizabeth was not in a good place. The service was distant and cool to a point that a number of previous reviews have mentioned, it is almost a level of disinterest. I even had a conversation with one of the staff in the Lido to try to ascertain if this aloof service was a directive from the ship or a result of long term interaction with the passengers, many of whom were not too friendly either. It was hard to get a decent answer that could be shared here clearly.

The two areas that were good were the decor and the food in Britannia Restaurant. The meals were tasty and most entrees quite nice. The Lido Alternative ($17.50 pp) was also very good with nice service.
