We chose this cruise strictly based on ports. We wanted the mix of Italy and Greece. We selected a balcony cabin, 8508 to be specific. It is the very front balcony cabin, meaning we were the furthest front balcony on the 8th floor.

The ship is smaller, so I don't know if it was the size of the ship, the Mediterranean sea, or being in front of the ship, but you did feel the ship rock and sway much more then any other cruise we have been on in the past. In the past we have always cruised in the Caribbean.

The food was not as good as we have experienced in past Royal Caribbean cruises. The service was excellent though.

Port Reviews

Santorini

Did the speed boat transfer on our own to Oui. Well worth it. That includes the bus transfer back to the port town, so well overall a great experience. Oui is definitely worth it.

Mykonos

Took the public bus to a beach and just spent the day at the beach. Great experience. Knew to expect the $25 drink pricing for beach chairs and umbrellas, but well worth it.

Athens (Piraeus)

We just hired a taxi for the day for about $150 Euros. He took us everywhere we wanted to go and even to places we had not thought about. Great experience.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Did our own touring. Taking the train into Rome is easy and cheap. We had bought our own tickets to skip the line tours, so doing it all on our won was easy.

Barcelona

Great time just doing things on our own.
