The itinerary was one that we were waiting to explore. We also wanted to "sample" the Oceania line. So when to opportunity came to us we booked the cruise on Oceania's Marina.

We did indeed enjoy visiting places that we only had read about . It was also great to do it from a ship as luxurious as the Marina.

The ship's appointments were top grade as was the service. Our only complaint was that we never saw the captain or other high ranking ships crew. On other cruise ships, especially the Azamara and Celebrity ships, their presence was warmly felt on a daily basis. We missed that.

Cabin Review

Penthouse Suite

Cabin PH2

Suite was very nice with no complaints from us than a loud banging noise from time to time which seemed to come from below the cabin.

Port Reviews

Klaipeda

Another rainy day but we did do this on our own as it was such a small town and close to the ships port. Old town was a bit of a problem navigating because of the cobblestone roads. We crossed over a bridge to get to the newer part of town. We wanted to se the old post office. The rain caused us to duck into a restaurant close to the post office building. This turned out to be the best part of this excursion. We were asked if we had a reservation and we said we didn't and started to walk out but the waitress said if we could be done in a short time we could be seated, since we only wanted coffee and a snack west down. The coffee was excellent and my ordered a scone. At the table next to us were five local young ladies who were having brunch. We were looking at what they were being served and admiring the portions when one of the girls looked over at us and told us what she was eating and thus we began to have a conversation with the ladies. It was just a pleasant exchange of words but it made our day. The scones were made right there and were delicious as was the cappuccinos. The cost was about $5.00! The memory was worth much more .
