Chose this cruise because of the ports, mainly because it was Fly Cruise, prefer it because you are into warm weather from day 1. Fly to Valletta, 1 week one direction, Athens Albania, etc back to Valletta (so we had a full day there) then around to Venice and Croatia.

Never been in Oceana before and had read reviews on here, so didn't know what to expect. Everything was fine, I believe it is there oldest ship but it doesn't detract in any way, if you are determined to look for faults instead of enjoying the good points you may think the carpets are a bit tired, but hey you are in holiday, look for all the good points! The atrium is beautiful, the staff treat you like royalty, I will say the food is not as good as years ago when I first began cruising when we had silver service but it's still good and excellNt value for money. Must say though it was surprised to see cottage pie one evening! Having said that I had lobster on two occasions.

Entertainment: illusionist , comedians, Blue Jays singing 50's hits, Electra (modern violin) - something to suit all tastes.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom with Shower

Cabin JA

Had a cabin upgrade at the last minute with balcony - booked outside - so we're highly delighted, everything as it should be, it's not a new ship so it was as we expected.

Had breakfast on the balacony a few mornings, delightful!

Port Reviews

Malta (Valletta)

Enjoyed our journey on the local bus to Mdina and Rabat, only 3.80 euro for both of us - easy to get to. Would return to Malta to explore further, unlike any other island I have visited.

Crete (Heraklion)

An ok place to wander around, just browsed around, sat under the shade and had a drink, too hot to do too much.

Katakolon (Olympia)

Loved this little place, undersold by the cruise line we felt. Again did our own thing, there was a little land train that I believe took passengers to wine tasting for 6 euro. Also horse and carriage rides, boat trips. Lovely shops to browse through too.

Sarande

To be fair, a clean promenade, restaurants looked ok, gypsy beggars (ladies with children) sprawled on the pavement, a very busy but pebbly beach. We left after a couple of drinks and 2 hours. Didn't want to go to National Park, roads bad apparently.

Dubrovnik

Was a bit annoyed we had to pay for shuttle as we paid SELECT fare so should have been included but it isn't. Ship wanted 10 euro each return fare, so we used service bus which is just outside port gate, buy a ticke from kiosk nearby. 4 euro return for both of us, very easy..

Very busy place, just wandered and enjoyed ambience. We could have laid 10 euro and walked around city walls but again, very, very hot so decided against it. Lots and lots of tour companies offering bus/mini bus drives around th city.
