Everything was done so well. Staff was very nice and helpful. Loved our room (8280). Balcony too hot usually. The ship was always hopping and there was always good food. Alvardo in the dining room was so professional and nice. Our room was immaculate; thanks to "Pie". Ports were nice; we arranged our excursions privately and everything was wonderful. We really tried to cram too much into the excursion days. It made us tired. We didn't use the fitness items, and pools were very crowded. Adult pool wasn't really available unless one was "elite" or something. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and everyone was so supportive with little presents. Beware of "free" drinks in the casino as one must be playing to get one; way more expensive than just going to buy a drink. Also, beware of the card with which to charge your room; right in the slot machines. Take cash, and know what you are spending. We decided not to venture south again in the summer, the cruise was fun, but in the future we would opt for small ship/perhaps adults only. Kids weren't a problem, just LOTS of people. Comedy shows - we went to two; they were great. Nightly music jams; great. Picture pick-ups were a mess. They say they are going to digitize soon. HAVE FUN!!

Cabin 8B

Our cabin was about in the middle of the boat. No problems what so ever. It was small, but very cozy, clean and comfortable. We loved it. Our steward/housekeeper was Pie and she was excellent. The balcony seemed rather dirty and was so hot we didn't use it very much. Tips from this site that helped us; we took a plug with extra sockets on it - you will need it in the room. Also, put suitcases under the bed. Enjoyed ourselves!!

Port Reviews

New Orleans

Loved our hotel; Bluegreen; an ASCEND hotel. So cute. Loved the little balconies. The bed was so comfortable. New Orleans was difficult to see. We don't feel like we can rate it well between the heat, the rain, I was sick, etc. We will have to go again; not in the summer.
