Chose the Marco Polo to move away from the larger ships. Boarded in Hull after overnight stay in Holidat Inn Hull Marina. Embarkation very smooth and well organised. Cabin very comfortable and crew very friendly and helpful.
Booked port excursions for St.Petersberg only since other ports easy to get around on our own. Could have done with more time in some places.
Very disappointed with the activities onboard compared to previous cruise vessels run by P&O. Swimming pool out of use for the whole 11 days - green slime and covered with net.
No tea or coffee making facilities in cabin. Mealtimes very crowded and expensive to book one of the "special" restaurants (£20)
Communication problems resulted in a delay at Kiel Canal and subsequently the return to Hull was cancelled and vessel ended up going back to Newcastle, presumably to avoid delay to the next cruise. Passengers disembarked at Newcastle and were transferred back to Hull by coach.
A long day before the 5 hour drive back home to Wiltshire
We would visit the Baltic again but not with Cruise&Maritime and not on the Marco Polo
