Let's start with the food. The Horizon buffet was awful. Breakfast....if you ordered an omelet or poached eggs, you waited forever to have you eggs brought to you. By then, the rest of your food was cold. Always the same food......over and over. Lunch.....same food choices over and over. You were better off going to the grill for a burger or hot dog. Or going to the gourmet pizza place down on deck 5.

The dining room.........the food started off bad, but improved as the cruise went along. Every night, the Caesar salad was warm with warm dressing. Rib eye steak was full of fat. If someone asked me what my favorite meal was....I would struggle to respond. We had the late seating every night for dinner. We were a group of 8. Although we were prompt every night, the service was so slow. In fact, we missed the 9:45 show the first two nights of the cruise because the service was so slow. But, like the food, it improved as the cruise went on.

The ship.......upon getting on the ship, we were excited to see the comfy looking lounge area on both sides of the ship in the back. (Deck 16 if I recall) It had nice padded chairs, sofas, overhead fans. There was a bar near by. To our dismay, it ended up being the smoking lounge. We thought we had found our place to play cards on the ship, but nope, the smokers get the most comfortable area on the ship. Deck 7......this is the deck that went all the way around the ship in case you wanted to go for a jog or a walk. But beware when you get to the starboard back part of the ship.....this is where the smokers got to hang out. So if you wanted to go all the way around the ship, you had to go through their smoke when you go to that area. We had an inside cabin. It was about the same as any other inside cabin that I've been on before, which includes RC's Explorer of the Seas and Carnival's Conquest. However, it by far had the smallest bathroom of any of these ships.

Average......smallest bathrooms I've ever had on a cruise ship.

Walked the town. This place is flat out beautiful.

Took a bus to the downtown shopping area. Beautiful city......wish we would have had more time there, eh.

Drove to SF to catch the ship. Been there before, no big deal.
