This was a family reunion cruise and seeing the family was the highlight. The ship is definitely showing her age. Layers and layers of paint, some of it chipping off, carpets worn, wood door steps very worn and towels that were torn. Embarkation and debarkation were very easy and went quite smoothly. When we first entered the ship it was like a black Friday sale, people in very close quarters and only 4 of 8 elevators working. Unfortunately they do not have separate elevators to bring luggage up and have to use the main ones. The food in both the cafeteria and main dining room was very bland. The soft serve ice cream in the pool area tasted like slightly frozen water with a splash of chocolate. One whole side of chairs next to the pool was a smoking area. We noticed that dirty glasses and plates of food were not picked up very fast in all areas. You could always see bottles of beer and plates everywhere. Our toilet did not flush properly (enough said). Our cabin steward was great and tried his best. The bed was another thing. Just a mattress on metal frame leaving each of us in a valley on it. Nassau was Nassau. We did not stay long but went to the pool, which was refreshing and not crowded. Their private island was very nice and had a good buffet. I just hate to be nickel and dimed everywhere and having to pay $25.00 to rent an umbrella for 4-5 hours was a little much. Entertainment was surely lacking as was shopping. As I first said being with extended family made it a good cruise. T
Our steward kept the cabin clean and was very efficient. Not much can be said other than that for an old ship.
Nassau is what it is, purely for tourists to buy trinkets.
