Embarkation was a breeze with the Faster to the Fun option. We were some of the first to get on board and our luggage was there and our room was ready. Others had to wait for hours dragging their carry on bags with them everywhere. The ship was kept very clean considering it was quite crowded. Food was very good. Do not miss out on the Pig and Anchor bar-b-que! It's only open certain hours so check on that. I recommend getting the Carnival app because finding out about dining and activities was very easy this way. The pizza was also delicious. We ate at the Chef's Art Steakhouse our first night and it was excellent. One of the best crab cakes I have ever eaten.( and I try a crab cake wherever I go). My husband loved his filet and lobster. Lido deck food is decent. We only ate there for breakfast. Formal dining room food is very good and has a good variety. We had the anytime dining plan. We always got there early (5:45) and never had to wait. First waiter was ok. Second waiter we really, really liked so we requested him every night (Yaco was his name). Our room was on level 8. This was a great choice because it was low enough to avoid noise from above, but not too far to take the stairs (elevator waiting is not for me). We had a rear facing room with a balcony which I loved because you could see both sides of you. The balconies are spacious but not very private. It is easy to see onto the balcony next door and above. The room was very spacious with lots of storage. I'm kind of a clean freak so I would give it a 7 out of 10 for clean. There was a toenail ( just saying, not mine, near the phone) and some dust in places that I would think would be wiped down often. The bathroom was super clean. Towels and sheets were comfortable but the actual bed not so much. Since it was just my husband and myself we chose to relax at the Serenity adults only section of the ship during the day. The chairs there are the most comfortable. It is very quiet there compared to the rest of the outdoor areas. We could still enjoy the music but it was much more peaceful there. We were not there to party. There are bathrooms nearby and a bar and bar servers and towel station. The towel attendant knew me by name. There were about 8 round pod like chairs that were very comfortable and highly desired. We would eat breakfast then go to our "pod" about 7:30 and they would get taken quickly so early bird gets the worm on that one. The water slides were super fun and a good way to cool off. The deck gets extremely hot so water shoes if you have them for walking to the water slides. We played lots of putt-putt (mini-golf). Sometimes we would have to wait for a club and ball but not too long. In the evenings there are picture stations all over. The scenes change each night so if you see a scene you like take the pictures because you won't see it again. We took lots of pictures. We ended up buying 4. Take them, it's fun and if you don't like them when you view them the next day just toss them in the bins. We did not order room service so I can't say anything about that. I don't like food where I sleep (nasty). There is a safe and hair dryer in the room which is handy. There is also a mini refrigerator (we didn't use). The shows that we attended were very good. An 80's music inspired show was awesome. The family game show was fun, but would have been more fun if one of us were chosen to play. We saw 2 different comedians. I laughed the most at the R rated show. We did not use the casino (don't gamble) but we had to walk through it a few times and it reeked of cigarette smoke. We did not use the spa. We did not go in the pools or hot tubs but they seemed very clean. The pools were way to crowded. Not for swimming for sure, just for standing in to cool off. We enjoyed the "dive in" movies a couple of nights. The popcorn was bland though. It needed salt or butter or something. We had a great time. All staff was friendly and hard working. All fellow cruisers were courteous and in good spirits.
