Second time with P&O. Went with my mother in June on Aurora. This time with my husband on Azura, what an amazing ship. Our cabin (although not reserved) was fantastic and very spacious, the queen size bed wonderful. We were in E603 mid aft, no noise except the air con. Partially obstructed by lifeboat but that didnt bother us. The ship was very well maintained and our cabin steward excellent at keeping it clean and tidy (think she changed the sheets everyday). Although we were on the early sitting for dinner, we were still not out of the dining room in time for the early show (7.30) so ended up going to the 9pm one. Think P&O should move their show times to perhaps 8.30 and 10.30 to allow first sitting diners to go to early show. Unfortunately, we found the theatre shows by Headliners very disappointing. There were loud with light effects over used, and the last show Evolution was the worst, I believe there was supposed to be a story line, but really couldnt make sense of it all. The 4 Tunes and Comedian John Evans were brilliant and their expertise was reflected in the audience reaction. There was always lots to enjoy during the eveings and sea days on the ship, from quizzes to dance classes and movies on the seascreen.

This was a a cruise to Norway in July and the weather was very kind to us. The scenery is amazing. We did all Tourist board trips as cheaper than P&O. You just need to make your way to the Tourist Board office in port and ask whats available.

The waiters in the Oriental Restaurant were very attentive and the food was excellent with plenty of choice for all palettes. We had a bottle of wine every two nights which was £15.95 a bottle cheaper than the package on offer.

Cabin Review

Outside Stateroom (Obstructed View)

Cabin NA

Cabin was very spacious, a lot better than expected. The bed very comfortable. There was a dressing area where there was a clothes rail and place for cases, shoes and a tall cupboard by the ensuite, it was all nicely tucked away so you were falling over cases all the time. The steward was very efficient and the bed was made/changed by the time we returned from breakfast.

Port Reviews

Olden

Tourist board bus takes to up to a village area and you can walk to the Glacier, its 45 minutes up hill. Can hire a troll car but they car £21 each way. Some of the ground can be uneven, but you do get to see some fantastic waterfalls on way up. Need walking shoes and water. Trip all in all was 3.5 hours.

Bergen

Not a fan of Bergen, wet and cold, and busy.
