We reserved this cruise because we wanted to see Alaska, as well as the diverse life that Alaska and its surrounding waters has to offer. We were not disappointed. We booked a cruise tour, which was comprised of a 7 day cruise followed by a six day land tour.

Embarkation in Vancouver was a confusing mess. It took us awhile to get through, made worse by having to pass through US customs before boarding. We have Global Entry, so we were able to skip much of the line, but it didn't seem like a higher Crown and Anchor status helped at all.

The cruise itself was amazing. We only had bad weather on one day, and that was the day in Icy Straight Point. During the voyage, we were able to see Orcas, Humpbacks, Sea Lions, Eagles, and many other animals.

Port Reviews

Icy Strait

This was a port area that is owned by RCCL and is rather like the Alaska version of Labadee. A lot of overpriced food and souvanirs without many things to do besides zip lines.

Skagway

This port had three other ships there when we arrived. It was crowded and the town was filled with overpriced souvenir shops. We walked around for an hour and returned to the ship.
