Holland started the cruise out perfectly. We were met at CPH by Holland representatives. Since the flight arrived at 7:30 am, too early to board the ship, they provided us with a 2 hour tour of Copenhagen. Embarkation went very smoothly without any long lines, quick boarding and our stateroom was available immediately. We had a Vista suite which was a good size for the length of the cruise. Our cabin steward was outstanding. The weather was as might be expected in the Baltic in early June, some sun and some blustery rainy weather. The ports were excellent. As always the Pinnacle Grill was a wonderful dining experience with impeccable service and very good menu. We attended a hands on cooking class which included lunch in Pinnacle Grill. Entertainment was so so but not too bad.

There were only two real negatives on the cruise. Holland often moors several walking miles from the tourist areas. I'm sure this is not their choice but they do moor far out they then charge $20 for a shuttle into town. The shuttle should be free or at least a more nominal amount. Passengers who don't want to take a ship excursion are left to fend for themselves with public transit. The other negative is that Holland seems to have cut staff. This was particularly evident in the main dining room where service was cursory at best. It used to be that your waiter was attentive to the guests at his or her table and got to know your preferences. Now they are covering so many tables service suffers.
