Although a late deal, this holiday was chosen to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary year.
Embarcation went smoothly though we had to wait a short while for our cabin to be ready.
The food was superb, plenty of choice from fish and vegetables for a non- meat eater. The waiters looked after our every need courteously and with good humour as did the bar staff.
The entertainments provided were very good, mostly featuring younger, very talented entertainers, though we did not see all of them.
I was happy with the excursions and choices provided apart from the problems right at the start of the cruise caused by a damaged lock at Antwerp and lock maintenance on the Moselle. Otherwise everything else was as planned and worked well.
The Cruise Director's enthusiasm and commitment was boundless.
The staff on board gave every appearance of being a happy, professional team.
This was for us a quality holiday which had the added bonuses of being truly "all inclusive " with all tipping included in the initial cost which saved a lot of hassle at the end of the cruise.
We may do another River Cruise in the future to a different destination.
The cabin was bigger than anticipated. Beds were comfortable. Great wardrobes with plenty of hangers and a good size safe. Mini bar was replenished promptly. The servicing of the cabin was excellent and unobtrusive.
The shower/ washroom/wc was a good size and very well fitted out. I liked the illuminated magnifying mirror.
The balcony was slightly disappointing because we hardly used it. We were out much of the time. Not a lot of time was spent moving along waterways while on board, and you get a better view from higher up in the ship. Also there were several occasions when other ships were moored alongside and you overlooked or were overlooked by a corresponding balcony. However I liked the extra space it gave us.
