This was not like past Norwegian cruises we have been on. Actually, the past two holiday Carnival cruises we were on were much better than this cruise on the Epic.

First, we couldn't get into a dinning room for dinner the first two nights. Second, we couldn't go parasailing at Norwegian's private island because it was supposedly too windy. It was breezy but nothing unusual. Third, we didn't even go to the one port we really wanted to go to; Jamaica. We just sailed by because again it was supposedly too windy. This made no sense because they can't just skip ports if it is windy. Fourth, we didn't get to zipline because we did not go to Jamaica. Fifth, we chose the shore excursion promotion and now that promotion was worthless because we didn't get to do two of our four excursions. So we lost out on a couple hundred dollars. Sixth, you have to choose all of your shows the first night for the entire week or you may not get to go to any. Then there were not enough shows to be able to go to something each night, which made the evenings on the boat for a family with kids to be very long and boring. We had to go to the library and play games to entertain ourselves. Seventh, there was not much entertainment poolside during days at see. Usually cruises have a lot going on poolside during sea days. A hotdog eating contest was the highlight of their entertainment. The rock wall was only open for a few hours each day, even at sea days. The rock wall should be open all day during sea days.

What made all of this even worse is the cruise line did nothing to compensate us for all of our inconveniences and loses. You would think missing one of the four ports would be a big deal and they would want to compensate their customers in some way but we got nothing. I did the survey for them at the end of the cruise and never got a response. This has really turned us off of wanting to cruise with Norwegian in the future and we just made gold status, which tells you this was not our first cruise.
