Overview:
We chose this cruise ship as it was a short drive from our home. This is the oldest ship in Carnival's fleet. Despite its age, the ship was clean and inviting in appearance. We loved the medium size of the ship. One great plus is that there are only about 2000 people on this ship and we never experienced lines as we did or somewhat larger ships with more people. We never got the feeling that we were "crowded" on this ship and there always seem to be plenty of space for everyone. We always got good seats for the major shows and did not need to get there way in advance to get a good seat.
Boarding:
The cabin seems smaller than the advertised 450 square feet, although I had no way of measuring it. The cabin was spacious with good storage and a nice sized balcony. We paid dearly for this cabin but it certainly made the cruising experience more enjoyable, particularly for our son's family of 5 who had the cabin next door to us. Being able to board through Priority Boarding and getting off the ship prior to 8 a.m. was a great bonus. You also get one load of laundry free although we didn't take advantage of this perk. We also got spa discounts that we did not use. Otherwise no perks!
Cozumel is a lovely island. We have been to Cozumel many times and thus did not book a tour. We instead went by taxi for $15 to Paradise Beach. The cost at Paradise Beach is $19 per person and that includes use of the large water toys and non motorized toys such as kayaks. There is also a large pool, showers, a bar, and food service. We had a lovely day and save quite a bit over similar tours offered by the cruise line.
