I chose the Breakaway beacause it sailed out of NYC and Royal Caribbean was not offering a cruise long enough for the week I Needed. I live in CT and have sailed out of Bayonne on Royal Caribbean on the "Explorer" two times. I also sailed the "Allure" out of FT Lauderdale. I decided to try the Breakaway beacause hearing that they were similar. They were in many ways but Royal is truly the winner! The Breakaway was a pretty ship just too broken up and really bad pool situation and not a nice fitness area or jogging track. The "Allure" definitely nailed the jogging track! Entertainment was ok. If you want the great entertainment you have to pay extra! Food and service in the Manhattan room was awesome. Did not try the specialty dining.Buffet was really bad. You can't really get any food later unless you order room service but they charge extra for that. Beverage package was good but they really should include bottled water like Royal Caribbean. We did order the $45 dollar water pacage from the room attendent but it never came. Their water was good drinking water when you got an ice water from the bar. Service on the rest of the boat was mediocre. The staff is not friendly at all and did not smile and ignored you unless you were doing something you shouldn't be doing like ordering two drinks at one time! Our room was barely made up and we always needed towels. After the last day we did figure out how to turn the light on. No information was givin to us on how the room worked! Glad we had teens that know how to power on the room!!! We only had 1 bed animal made 1 night and that happens to be my favorite part! Oh well! Leaving was a NIGHTMARE from the ship. NO ONE gave us any information on where to get tags, customs papers etc... fortunately we figured that out due to the fact we had done it 5 other times before. It took 2 Hours of standing in line to leave. It seemed that if you stay in the Haven suites you might have better service and maybe a chair to sit in by a pool. I probably would try it again if it was an itinerary I really wanted but would stay in the Haven to have better service.

Cabin Review

Family Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B2

Joining Cabin balcony rooms. Husband and I in one cabin and a 17,18,19 year old in other cabin. Small rooms, small balconies. They were nice to have balconies in Bermuda for three days staying there but would have preferred the other side of the ship due to the fact it was docked the other way would have enjoyed watching people on the pier but still had a beautiful view.
