Sail Date: Mar 2017

Ovation Of The Seas was a completely new experience for us as we usually sailed on their normal style ships ie the Royal Promenade, Outdoor Promenade, and the 3 levels of MDR. It was their Hi-tech new ship with new and advance technology onboard.

Embarkation.

We head down to the pier and arrived around 10.30am. There were not many people around as most of them had chosen to follow the appointment times given. We had a 12 pm appointment but we came earlier anyway and I'm glad we did. As the terminal was mostly empty at that hour, we had a fast check in and were seated waiting for boarding in not more than 10 mins. Boarding was at 11am and we didn't have to wait very long.

Cabin Review

Cabin Superior Oceanview Sateroom with Balcony( D7)

Lovely Cabin with Bed by the Balcony. Lots of storage space and good size room with standard balcony size which was good enough for me. A short walk from the lifts and is located near the midship where it's easy to anywhere on the ship. They don't provide the toiletries though. Was glad they provided slippers. Great and hardworking stateroom attendant who took care of us those 5 days.

Port Reviews

Penang

Lots of stuff to do around. They had a local market which was selling local specialties. Tourist Information center was well equipped and spoke English with good clear directions.

Phuket

This is a tender Port but tenders run really quickly and fast using the tender boats and local ferries. Great organization by the team on Ovation to tender more than 5000 people. Ovation Of The Seas tenders in Patong Beach which was right in the heart of everything. We walked around and watch people do jet skis and parasailing by the beach before heading to our favorite place Hard Rock Cafe for a drink and souveniers. Lots of places to eat too. People are generally friendly.
