Just back from a lovely cruise vacation on Divina. Although no trip is ever 100 percent perfect, we had a wonderful time. Met some nice people, ate well, enjoyed a few drinks, had some good family time, relaxed, danced - just what we needed!
We drove to Miami, parked at the port, and were on the ship within the hour, enjoying a delicious lunch at the buffet. Ship was beautiful, clean, and our cabin was ready by about 2pm. We met our cabin attendant very quickly and she was friendly and looked after us very well for the week.
We were traveling with our adult sons, who had a balcony cabin on the 13th deck.
Nice, clean, good use of space. Large confy bed, sofa and coffee table. Plenty of storage. Bathroom good. Balcony in this cabin has a wall of the ship on the right side, which obscures the view to that side, but also gives more privacy.
Took the local bus to Maho Beach to see the planes. Got a nice overview of the island on the way. Came back and looked in the shops, and enjoyed the beach for a while. People were friendly, but really, not much different from other Caribbean islands
Enjoyed walking old San Juan ourselves, exploring the fort, the cat sanctuary area, the town. Had lunch at a nice local spot. Altogether a nice day.
Better than usual, we did not get as much hassle from the locals as before, but still, it was only worth being there for an hour or two at most.
