We were visiting family in Italy and decided that it was a good value and more fun to take a repositioning cruise back to the states. We looked at the repositioning cruises in Oct/Nov time frame and this one met our schedules.
We have taken many cruises -- Regent, Princess, Celebrity and HAL. Probably more on HAL because we like the smaller ships. Even though we thought we were experienced cruises there were others on the ship with much more experience and we learned a few important tips.
Tip number one -- watch for the rotating happy hours on the ship. The 2 for 1 pricing on pre-dinner cocktails helps stretch the budget.
Our cabin was clean and comfortable.
We spent two days in Rome before the cruise. It was enough time for us. The Vatican Museum was very crowded, but the food was good. We took the train from Rome to Civitavecchia and took a very short cab ride from the train station. We were glad to take the cab as the ship was aways off from the cruise terminal and the cab dropped us right by the ship and as soon as we checked in we boarded. Very easy.
