First time cruiser. Went with brother-in-law, sister, husband. Started my 50th birthday cruise out of New Orleans. Stayed at the Marriott across from the Port of Orleans the night before our cruise left. Had beignet's at Café Du Monde in N.O. before boarding. Excellent!! Embarkation was not bad and went smoothly. Room was ready as soon as we boarded the ship. Stayed in balcony room 8358 which was very nice. Stepping out on the balcony viewing the ocean every morning, nothing more pleasant. Edik, our room keeper, took very good care of us. Dining was good in dining room. Buffett wasn't the best. Guys Burgers and Blue Iguana were excellent. They need a snack shack with nachos, pickles, etc.in between lunch and dinner. here was one in the bar area but only open late evenings. Had yummy food though. Service at bars was slow at times. Some servers acted like they were in slow motion. Overall, most servers hustled and took good care of us. Do buy the Cheers package because drink tab runs up quickly. Went to Mr Sanchos in Cozumel, was best part of the cruise. Free drinks/food all day. Water was beautiful and cool to touch. During days at sea, got bored at times. Nothing to do but hang out in the casino or lay out. If you have kids, this is the cruise to take. Lots of things to keep them busy. (We didn't take ours but they were everywhere) Nights were fun. Piano bar, comedy shows, bingo (only played once. $40 a person and prizes were only $100, $150, and $250. Didn't play but once. Disappointed in prize amounts. We did well in the casino. Won at slots and cards. Disembarkation was not fun. Carrying all our bags to shuttle was exhausting due to long lines. Should have paid to get fast pass for departing. Overall, our first cruise was fun but next time will do one that has more Adult things to do and better entertainers. Like a "Live" cruise with well known performers.
