Chose this cruise to see several countries around Rome without having to pack and unpack constantly. Went on 11 day cruise from Rome to 5 countries and enjoyed it all. The only thing bad was the service in the free style dining main dining areas. Reservations were difficult at best. Service was terrible in main dining areas. Of the 11 days, we ate diner only in the main dining rooms and got decent service only 2-3 days. Most nights took over 2-2 1/2 hours to complete a meal. It took as long as 20 minutes just to get drink. Not sure if prepaid gratuity or not having enough staff was the problem. Experienced long waits even when only 1/2 of the dining room was occupied. I've been on over a dozen cruises and know when they expected a tip at the end we received much better service. Same at the pool bar. Long lines and wait times. All other dining options were much quicker to service you.
