First time on NCL. Chose this cruise to be able to see several islands without having to fly between. This ship is basically a floating hotel as you are in port everyday. Most ports are commercial areas. Since this ship is in Hawaii all of the time, there is no casino on board and bingo is played for gifts, not money. Food was fine. The buffet offers some of the same items day in and day out and it was nothing to be excited about. We tried Moderno and La Cucina. Moderno was our favorite. We stayed with the NCL excursions and though they were a bit more than the private excursions we were pleased with all of them. It made it easier to pay at once and when we had to cancel one trip, it was easy to do and our cruise card was credited immediately. Our favorite tour was the Grand Island Circle the day we returned to Honolulu. Great way to spend time before leaving Hawaii.
We did see a few of the evening shows and took part in lei making and origami classes during the day.
Not sure if we will go again, as we have many other places we want to visit.
Our obstructed view room was fine for us and was on deck 7. We had a nice big picture window, so while standing up we could see beyond the emergency/tender boats plenty of the ocean or land depending where we were. There was ample storage for both of us in the room and bathroom.
We took the bus to Lahaina. It dropped us off at an outlet mall at Hilo Hatties where we each received a shell lei. Then we walked a block to old town Lahaina. Once we were done looking at the stores and around the town, had lunch and headed back to the outlet mall. It is too bad that there are not shuttles back and forth. We were done and waited about an hour for the bus to come back.View All 35 Lahaina Walking Tour Reviews
Day 2, caught a taxi at the port and went fishing on the Pamela. 4 hour trip was perfect. All gear was provided. Caught some local fish (gave it to the taxi driver) and had a good time.View All undefined undefined Reviews
Had an excellent bus driver/tour guide. Very knowledgeable about the area and even added some unscheduled photo opportunities. The advantage to taking a bus was that we always had parking! Watched rental cars circle around for parking while we hopped off and on.View All 134 Volcano National Park & Hilo Waterfall Tour Reviews
Loved this since we did not do any snorkeling. Took the tender to the port and met the boat that transported us to the submarine. It was comfortable and we saw several ship wrecks, lots of sea life and dove to the bottom of the ocean, 105 feet.View All 17 Atlantis Submarine Reviews
Day 1 we jumped on the Hop on Hop Off bus. We got off at the Kauai Plantation and took the train around the property. Then waited for the next bus (which came about every 20-30 minutes) and continued on. This was a great way to see the area.View All 31 Kauai Plantation Railway Reviews
Day 2 - we took a tour to the Smith River Tour and Fern Grotto. Beautiful scenery and again the bus driver was very knowledgeable and took us to many photo spots.View All 85 Wailua River Reviews
Took this tour on the last day after debarking. Saw plenty of tourist areas, went to the Dole Plantation and again the tour driver was full of information.View All 32 Great Island Circle Tour Reviews
