Sail Date: Jun 2017

We selected a short 6 night cruise to fit round my working commitments and chose the P & O Ventura.

We chose to drive to Southampton from home in Lancashire and set off nice and early even though it was a Saturday sailing. Traffic and conditions were favourable so we had a great trip and with just slow traffic from about 10 miles out of Southampton but we arrived in the car park at 10.30am.

A short walk and into the terminal to await the embarkation process which commenced just before 12 noon. Once on board we made our way to the buffet for a spot of lunch having had no breakfast with our early departure.

Cabin Review

Cabin Superior Balcony

A really good cabin, probably one of the best balcony cabins we have ever had

Port Reviews

Southampton

Southampton is well catered by car parking close to the ship, Motorway was busy from 10 miles out despite our early start

La Rochelle-La Pallice

Really pleasant small French coastal town, Was easy to walk round when we had been bussed in and there were a few things to do.

St. Peter Port (Guernsey)

Having never been to the Channel Islands I was very impressed by this island. The fact we could take a one and a half hour bus tour round the island for just £1 each was fantastic value

Bilbao

We were due to visit Santander but the Captain changed the port and I am sure we were far better served by our long day in Bilbao. A really nice city to walk round, my wife did some shopping and later in the day we walked the promenade of Getexo where we had docked
