Overall, loved our cruise on the Escape but it was very expensive compared to other options. It was multi-generational, with ages ranging from 18 to 77, so we needed something for everyone ... and we found it.

There will always be pros and cons, of course.

Pros: Clean cabin with a good amount of storage space. Mini-suite had large bathroom with walk in closet and cabinets to store your toiletries. The ship had great water slides (both thrilling ones where the bottom drops out below you, as well as slower moving one on a float). There were choices for younger kids too. Fun ropes course -loved the terrifying zip line 20 stories above the water. The two shows we saw showcased some real talent. Fun dueling pianos - we are spoiled in Atlanta area but this is best I've seen at sea. Great variety of restaurants. Good value for the specialty dining (with the Choose 2 promotion we got three free dinners for first two guests...only had to pay the discounted three dinner package price for our third person). Room steward, Jocelyn, was absolutely awesome. Always clean, always stocked and never interrupted us. Cute towel animals too. We love the "Do not disturb", "At Home" and "Make up Room" indicator lights/switches. what a great idea! You get what you want without anyone ever knocking on the cabin door. Ask for foam pillows if you don't like/allergic to feather. Ask for extension cord if you use CPAP. Loved the little fish in the carpet that tell you which direction is the front of the ship. Very happy with the scuba diving and Discover scuba diving excursions. Very professional and well organized. Felt very safe. Food was hit or miss. Some nights fantastic, others bland and Japanese steak house was just not good. Buffet was done really well. Great variety and many, many stations so you never waited in line long. Always plenty of seating. Very clean. Pizza was very good as were the deserts/ice cream.

Harvest Caye

Very disappointed. Snorkeling or diving was a bucket list item for Belize but neither are offered despite NCL continuing to advertise snorkeling in Harvest Caye. There's nothing to see ... and jelly fish in the water. They had a nice pool but I can go to the County pool two miles from my house. I don't travel for days to go to the pool. My nephew did really enjoy the zipline across the lagoon which saved the day for us. Food was minimal but good and VERY expensive for bar food.
