On a good note the ship is beautiful. Embarkment was very easy, only took minutes. We did our check in on line and scanned our pictures. The crew very pleasant especially our cabin steward Mary Ann.We loved our balcony room. It was large enough for the two of us and would have even been large enough if we had a third person in cabin The balcony was large enough for 2 chairs and foot rests and a table. The shower was adequate and had good water pressure .It had a rounded glass door. Rest of the bathroom was comfortable also. Our waiter in American icon Amor and assistant Jerry were outstanding . Also headwaiter Armagan was great. We were celebrating our 50th anniversary and they brought us a cake and sang to us .The food was very good with plenty of free selections. One night we even had lobster tails . There were also selections to pay extra for if you wanted a whole lobster or special steak but we never did that. We had my time dining and never had to wait long for a table. We even asked to have a table served by Armar and never waited more than 10 minutes.

On the down side if you book tours with the ship and have to tender do not wait to get your tender ticket . We were told to wait to get our ticket until we were ready to get off and we waited 2 1/2 hrs for our number to be called even though we told them we had a 11 am tour . Picked up our ticket at 8:45 and still missed the tour. Tender arrived at 11:20 in Bar Harbor .Also next day Halifax tour to Peggy's Cove as scheduled at 3pm an we were to have 1 hour there . It was 1 hour ride to get there and then were told we only had 20 minutes because the ship was leaving. This tour was a ship scheduled tour this should not have happened. Peggy's Cove was beautiful and we were very disappointed that we had so little time there. In Bar Harbor they were able to get on a later tour but that tour hit a detour due to an accident and we did not see any of the stops scheduled. A 25% refund was given for Barr Harbor and a 30% refund for Peggy's Cove but the money did not compensate for the anxiety and disappointment we had. We are older and will probably never get to these ports again. We did not do any on board experiences except my husband went on the bumper cars when we first boarded the ship which was a good call since after lines were long. Disembarkment took longer than expected due to jam up of people getting off with their luggage without telling the ship which we were supposed to do a few days before. A notice was in the room stating that so we had to wait for our number to be called 1 hour longer than we thought. Ship docked @ 7am we got off at 10:30 am.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

Enjoyed balcony.Cabin comfortable.Food very good Staff very pleasant. Tours ,tendering and disembarkment needs improvement. Also we enjoyed all the shows even though we heard some people saying they did not. I think they just weren't used to the deep thought involved in The Gift. Had a good message to us.
