After being away from Celebrity for 5 years (though not away from cruising), we sailed on Summit's America's Cup cruise to Bermuda with a stop in Boston. Despite it's blemishes, we're glad did and would recommend this ship to those who value more of a cruise experience than over the big-box Vegas type floating cities/resorts. You do have to look past the rust on the railings and some much needed refresh though Summit more than makes up for it in terms of ease of navigating, excellent dining, and typically better than average service (though in some spots service was a little below the mark as noted below).

Embarkation (Cape Liberty): We flew into LGA on day of sailing and arrange for transport to ship via Dial 7. With traffic took about 45 minutes arriving at 12:30pm. Had priority boarding due to Concierge class stateroom though not sure we experienced that as we were ushered to a station furthest away from what I thought was the concierge checkin desk (more about value of Concierge later as well). After processing by an indifferent person we boarded the boat and while offered a glass of champagne, there was no one there to help direct us to the MDR for the Concierge Luncheon. Would have been nice if someone was there to help direct. The embarkation lunch was very nice. Stateroom was ready by a little bit before 1:30.

Stateroom: 8169, starboard side, aft. Supposedly a bit bigger than a normal stateroom, though couldn't really tell. It was a nice room. Large bed with a two person sofa/sleeper (not the most comfortable but functional). Vanity/desk with two sets of plugs (one 110v and one set 220v for their European cruisers I presume). Nice balcony with two chairs and a high top table. We spent a lot of time on the balcony. Room is somewhat sheltered by an outcropping from the Cafe two floors up. Added a bit of protection from the occasional rain and a bit more shade. Liked that. Best of all, there were no interior rooms in this portion of the hallway which cut down on foot traffic and noise. Downside: room developed sometime of A/C leak (at least that's what they called us last two days) resulting in a soaked rug at the door and in front of the mini-fridge. With wardrobe on one side and bathroom on other was a bit cramped and had to choreograph getting ready. The shower by the way was nice with good water flow, very little fluctuation in water temp, large enough lip so water didn't get on the bathroom floor and you didn't get too personal with the shower curtain.
