My review - long. We cruised as a family group of 18 people, and we all had a fantastic time. I have cruised the Dawn before, but never in a group, so it was a new experience. I have read the reviews and was concerned, but did not have any problems. I only have 1 negative comment, I will go into that in my review. I did witness a number of people who had complaints but really they have to get over themselves. One in particular made me laugh, the man in question was complaining that he had to be out of his room by 7.30 am. It was explained to him that the staff had to get the cabin ready for the next cruise. He went on and on about it. I loved the idea of being able to board before lunch and start my holiday, but that also means I have to get up early on the last day.

Embarkation - fantastic (I did have an issue with 1 staff member, nnot P and O, but 1 of about 100 was ok. We dropped out bags off at about 10.15 am for a 10.30 am check-in. We then filled in the health questionnaire and joined the check in line, this moved really quickly and we were soon through (great staff). We then made our way to the boarding lounge. We were a little early so the security guard there suggested we go for a coffee as the ship hadn't started boarding as yet. The coffee was lovley. We made our way to the ship, through customs, and then we were on board. We made our way to our cabin, which was ready.

Cabin 10114 - ocean view cabin. We chose this cabin as we like the area it was located in (when we booked we could only get gauaranteed over decks 9 and 10 and we wanted deck 10 to be with the rest of the family) we choose to have 2 single beds, you get a lot more useable space. Try it, if you don't like it the stewards will be happy to put them back together if that's what you want. The bathrooms are on the small side, but the showers are fantastic, so much pressure, so much hot water. The hanging space is large, with lots of hangers. There are a lot of draws in the cabin to put all of your things in. I recommend unpacking, you only have to do it once, and it makes it easy to find everything. Our (empty) luggage was easily stored under the bed. The beds were comfortable. The cabin had its own air conditioning control and we set it to as cold as possible, which turned out to be too cold, so we turned it up. I took a power board and extension cord for all my electronic devices. I also took my own hair dryer and hair straightener. We had fantastic room stewards, really lovley people. I will miss the 'good morning Miss Michelle and Sir David' we received each morning. We had towel animals, and chocolates. Our cabin was serviced twice a day.

Cabin Review

Cabin OE

Ocean view cabin. This is a great location. Very quite. The cabin is a good size, with lots of hanging space and lots of draw storage. Our (empty) luggage fit easily under the bed. There is only one power point so I took a power board and extension cord for all my electronic devices. The room stewards were wonderful, we had towel animals a few nights and chocolates on the pillow. We have the room set up as two singles, there is more useable room this way. The bed was comfortable. Our cabin had its own air conditioning control, we turned it right down, but it was too cool, for us so we turned it up a bit. The bathrooms are on the small side, but the showers are great and the water pressure was good and the water hot.
