Our family has never tried going on a cruise before, but now that our kids are in their teens and are young adults, we decided to do this Alaska Inside Passage cruise to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Also thought that cruising closer to land rather than in open waters would be ideal for first-timers like us. Booked this cruise way in advance and through HAL travel agent, who helped us make changes here and there. Got Pinnacle Grill dinner for 2 with Signature Beverage Package promo per stateroom booked, which was really fortunate for us.

Spent a day in Vancouver prior to cruise departure and stayed at the Pinnacle Marriott Downtown Hotel which was just 2 blocks from Canada Place, where the pier is. It's walkable even if you have luggage to tug around. No need to take a taxi. Again, booked this hotel 8 months in advance, knowing that June will be peak season for travelers and got a really good rate for 2 rooms. Love Vancouver! Discovered Bella Gelateria along W. Cordova and Burrard St. -- truly award-winning gelato! Will go back again for more :-)

On day of departure, checking in was a breeze, procedure was very organized and well-staffed. Crew were very welcoming right from embarkation, very helpful in showing us where to go. Our 2 cabins with balconies were adjoining and Wibi and Nai, our cabin stewards, were around to introduce themselves and welcome us. Explored the ship after having lunch at the Lido, everything looked impressive and clean. Love the artwork and decor. Food was good overall, with different cuisines available on various days. Shout out to Emily and Diane, our wine stewards! They introduced me to Snoqualmie Riesling and I really got to like it. Made dinner reservations to the Pinnacle

Adequate size for 2, very clean room and restroom, movies on TV are current, balcony really good to have! Our binoculars proved very useful.

Port Reviews

Vancouver

Explored Vancouver the day before our cruise. Walked to Chinatown and by the Seawall. Great time walking around Canada Place and had lunch at Cactus Club Cafe. Discovered good gelato place -- Bella Gelateria at W. Cordova and Burrard St. Walked along shops and eateries along Robson St. and had good dinner in a small Chinese restaurant.

Glacier Bay

Just being here for several hours is worth all the expense that you put in this cruise. Seeing the beauty of this place and witnessing a calving glacier and all the wildlife around is just priceless. So happy we brought our own binoculars.
