  3. Norwegian Getaway
We took the Getaway twice in 2016 on a western Caribbean itinerary and loved it both times. Out of Miami on a 7 day you have 4 full port days which most ships only have 3 on a 7 day from S Fla. When it moved to the Baltic in May, we couldn't pass it up especially at last minute prices. On a 9 day itinerary, it had 6 full port days including overnight in St. Pete. We scored an upgrade to Haven with a minimum bid, Now we are forever spoiled. Obviously the Haven rooms and bedding are so much plusher. But it's also the attention of the Haven staff that makes you feel like you are on your own private charter. Express boarding and disembarkation at all ports. Private dining room and bar. In room bar set-up comes with certain suites (although I think the cheap liquor that is complimentary is not in keeping with the Haven standards, we paid $40 to upgrade some bottles). While I wish it had been warmer while sailing the temperatures were ideal for sightseeing. Unlike the Breakaway, the Haven courtyard on the GA does not have a retractable roof since it was made for Miami. You can find fault with any cruise or cruise line but overall we had a great experience and would definitely recommend the GA. The dining was excellent in the haven and spec restaurants and 1 night we ate in Tropicana which is one of the MDR and it was also very good. We love Maragritaville at lunch for modest upcharges. The new Circus show was excellent as was MDQ. Howl at the Moon is always entertaining. My only complaint is the UBP wine options. Even in the Haven, we were subjected to wines that were no more than $8-12 in the grocery store. There were no by the glass upgrade options except in Blue where Louis Latour Pouilly-Fuisse was available at an upcharge of $1.25/glass. We wound up buying some better bottles that were discounted since we had the UBP. The hydro pool and spa area are an everyday favorite. It was too cold for H2O deck parties, but they were the best in Caribbean. Andres the new CD is energetic and omnipresent. Lastly Benny and Juana the butler and cabin attendant are the best as is Miss Ria the Haven restaurant hostess. Hanno the haven concierge apart from being the tallest crew member was always helpful and informative.

Cabin Review

The Haven Owner's Suite with Large Balcony
Cabin H3 16100
The 2nd best cabin on the ship. We only wish we had an ocean view from the tub which could have been bigger. Super comfortable bed but the sofa for sitting was not so comfortable.
