We had a very pleasant 14 day cruise with Cunard - we stayed in a Q4, Queens Suite. The cabin was comfortable and our butler, Alex, was superb. It's an elegant, albeit very dated, ship (particularly the yellowing rouched curtains in the Queens Grill - someone please give them a wash!). Disembarkation was a complete fiasco - disorganised, chaotic and took over an hour to reach the gangway from leaving the morning meeting point.

This was our first Cunard experience and it will be our last. Why? Having reviewed and agreed our final account on board, we returned home to find that we had been overcharged by over USD300. In addition, Cunard had presented several transactions against our account (and without our knowledge), which reduced the amount of cleared funds available to us in our current account. These amounts were of a random nature (and not authorised by us on board). Upon calling Customer Services (at a cost of 3p per minute to us!), we were told that there was nothing that could be done to reverse the transactions immediately, and that one by one they would "fall away" in the course of the week. Absolutely outrageous behaviour (and borderline financial fraud). If I had the time, I would take the further but have decided to draw a line under our Cunard experience and will chose a cruise line with a better approach to Customer Service.
