Sail Date: Jun 2017

Was on the Breakaway June 11-18, 2017. This is my 15th cruise so I feel what I will tell you is fair. Let me start with getting to the pier fro LaGuardia; We Uber'd ($32.00) bad traffic as a parade was going on so it took us 40 minutes. NCL wanted $40. per person!! Do the math. We got to the port, the Uber guy got our bags out, drove away and there we were, no signs and very crabby bag people. They were yelling at everyone and never did say which luggage thing to put our bags on. (We later found out they are not employees of NCL). After much confusion (NEVER had this in Miami, or Ft. Lauderdale where we usually cruise out of) got into the building, and from there it was pretty smooth. We got onto the ship at 11:15 which was great, took our carry on right to our room and hit the buffet!

I think the food on NCL is very good. Not gourmet but everything except the Prime Rib the 1st nigh (blan) was wonderful. We went to the Japanese Grille as a treat (up charge) and a not to miss Cirque dinner show. Fixed menu, GREAT food, wonderful show, worth every penny. Treat yourself, you won't go wrong. We did reservations prior to the cruise for the Manhattan room which is one of the free dining rooms. Reminds you of a Old New York Night Club, live music and dancing while you eat. It's our favorite. Savor and Taste had the same menu and were fine.

Now lets get to the crowds. We were told there was 4600 passengers, 1600 crew and it felt like it. Very crowded everywhere you went. We saw alot of kids but they were in the childrens area so they didn't bother anyone. BEWARE!!!! My husband had to go out at 6:00 a.m every day to get pool chairs!!! On cruise days when he got out there there were already towels (but no people). The people showed up at 10,11, even 2:00. When I mentioned it to security, they just shrugged. Really could care less. There is 1 SMALL pool for the adults and no where to sit in it around it or on the shallow water floor. Can't believe that many people and a pool smaller than the one at my gym!!
