We chose this cruise to celebrate a special occasion. We chose the Seattle-Juneau-Glacier Bay-Sitka-Ketchikan-Victoria route on the Eurodam, and booked a verandah stateroom. The room was very nice. Ship cabins are always small, but there was enough room for us to put everything away, and we never felt cramped. The bed and linens were comfortable, the temperature easily controlled, the balcony was nice and our housekeepers were incredibly attentive and nice. We have only compliments about the housekeeping staff.
The food is fairly average. This isn't one of the 24 hour a day buffet type ships, but we don't eat in the middle of the night anyway, so for us that wasn't a problem. The buffet is about what I'd expect for feeding 2,000+ people three times a day. Lots of carbs, few fresh options and most things were not seasoned much - probably because of differing tastes by guests. There are quite a few fried foods, stewed or roasted options, that sort of thing. There is a salad bar and it had fairly good but limited options. Again, what you would expect when they have to stock the kitchen only once a week for a lot of people. The desserts were simple, plentiful and a lot of them were pudding-type options - nothing over the top that we tried, but they were okay. By the end of the week I was longing for something fresh.
The dining room options are also fairly average. The food is not over the top, but it's okay. It's a little lower quality than a moderately priced steakhouse (think Outback), or a comparable seafood restaurant, but it was not terrible. We are just used to more fresh food options than they are able to offer, so might be perfect for someone else.
Cabin was very nice. Plenty of room, housekeeping staff was fabulous (Omar and Fadil)
