Let me start off with we decided to take a cruisetour with Princess to Alaska since it allowed us to see the Alaska panhandle and Denali National Park. The land portion was very good. The food and service was excellent as was the coordination efforts of our escort/guide. Michael was great.

On the other hand, the cruise portion was very below average. We paid for an up-charge dining at the Bayour Cafe and the fish was so overcooked it was inedible. Most of the meals in the main dining room were room temperature. The fish was always overcooked. We did get to participate in the Chef's table for $95 / person up-charge. It was very nice but on the expensive side. Compared to other cruise lines we have used, we found the buffet to be very limited in food choices.

I got the feeling that most of the staff was just going through the motions while doing there jobs. Our cabin attendant was very good and attended to all our needs, but otherwise we were not impressed with the service of other crew members.
