This was the third time in 4 years we had done this itinerary on Caribbean Princess due to special deals. Although the ship, had had a partial refit, there were areas of the ship showing neglect and several public toilets were closed due to maintenance at times. The buffet had been refurbished and renamed Fresh Marketplace. We found the layout much better but could not say the same for the food in both choice and quality. We had to send food back in the Coral Dining Room on several occasions due to the temperature or quality of the meat, yet on a few occasions the food was excellent. It was certainly much better ladt year.
Ports of call
Guernsey - due to high winds forecast it was decided to leave Southampton much later and miss out this port. Having visited before, I would recommend taking the local bus which circles the island in about an hour and costs £1. The bus station is across the road at the end of the tender dock.
Response from TaylorW, Social Team, Princess Cruises
Very handy for the International Cafe and getting on and off the ship. We had to request a thinner duvet as the original ones were far too thick and they crackled! We had limited luggage so plenty of storage space. The carpet looked grubby and in need of a deep clean.
