We've been loyal to RCL, having sailed with them a number of times. We tend towards the larger Class, Voyager, and Oasis (have not tried Freedom Class). This cruise consisted of me (58), Wife (56), Son (25) and his Girlfriend (24). While we have all cruised frequently, our son's girlfriend had never cruised before. She LOVED the experience.
The process of boarding at Port Everglades was extremely easy and efficient. By the time we arrived to the Pier, "checked in", and made our way upstairs (about 11:30), they had already begun the process of allowing passengers to board. And our luggage was delivered very quickly to our Room, probably by 2:00, the quickest we have ever encountered.
The Entertainment was outstanding, from Oceanaria, Mama Mia, Blue Planet, etc., we all thoroughly enjoyed what the Allure offered. Daytime activities for us mostly consisted of lying about the Pool and relaxing. The ship has so much to offer, and each time I find myself saying I'm going to do this and that, but seem to enjoy people watching, relaxing, and having a drink or two at the Pool, I find I never fully enjoy all that the ship has to offer. My son and his GF did attend one of the Art auctions, and did enjoy watching that.
Cabin was what we have come to expect - and our Cabin Steward (James) was very friendly, always smiling and extremely pleasant. One day we needed maintenance to respond to an issue and they were prompt and resolved the issue very quickly and effectively.
Our Cabin was relatively close to the Aft Elevators, and entrance to Central Park making it very convenient to navigate from there. We seldom had long waits for an Elevator.
We hadn't been to San Juan in a number of years and all of us (4) found this to be our favorite stop. My wife and I rode the free shuttle to El Morro, taking in some of the sites along the way, then walked the grounds of the Fort on our own, capturing numerous photos. From there we walked to the shopping district in Old San Juan, and enjoyed the cobblestone streets, and unique colonial architecture. The merchants were very friendly, and not Pushy AT ALL.
