So much to say...I love the Summit. If you're looking for gimmicky entertainment and action like slides and bumper cars, you won't find them on the Summit. For the few times I met her or heard her talk, Captain Kate is breath of fresh air. I wish I had run into her more around the ship. It is a much quieter itinerary and I liked having time at sea, time ashore, time at sea. The last day we read (slept) at the pool for 5 hours. I like their education seminars too. Had a great one about the American Revolution.
We were in Aqua class and one of my few complaints is the food at Blu. Last time I loved it but this time I felt like they were trying too hard to be edgy or gourmet. Or something. Not that the food wasn't good, because it mostly was, but sometimes it was hard to find something to eat. Usually I like to try different things but I felt there was a lack of 'safe' items some night. I don't want quail or squab but do something interesting with chicken.
Our cabin was great. 9104 was a good location, mid ship, up the stairs to the pools and buffet. Not too much noise. Our cabin steward Fitzroy was competent but not very outgoing. He hardly spoke to us and never asked if we needed anything. I resorted to leaving him notes because we didn't see him much. He did a nice job, the room was cleaned, but didn't wow me with service.
Had some problems with creaking, which was easily ignored, and hot water was missing one AM. I think it's a nice size for two people. Love the balcony, which is covered by deck 10, but I like the shade. Heard chairs scraping once but usually pretty quiet.
