We are loyal Royal Caribbean customers. This was our fourth time to sail with them.
The ship is fantastic. So many different venues with Central Park, the Boardwalk and the quality entertainment. (Although it was confusing to have to make reservations for the entertainment! The shows sold out before we realized how the system worked.)
Our biggest disappointment was with the quality of the food in the main dining room and the Wind Jammer. We ate all but one dinner in the main dining room. We ordered beef tenderloin one night and were served a meat with gravy that tasted just like roast beef that you cook in your crock pot. The third night we ordered chicken cordon bleu that had hardly any ham or cheese, and tasted like it had been frozen and heated up. We had the same problem with the ham and cheese omelets in the Wind Jammer....there was little to no cheese or meat! The bread, fruit, vegetables and the creme brulee were very good. We dined one night in the Brazilian steak house and the food there was fantastic! So, evidently feeding the masses in the dining room and Wind Jammer cafe means sacrificing quality.
Rented an 8 passenger van for our family and cruised around the island at our leisure. Shopped, at lunch at the Sunset Grill at Suicide Beach and swam at the beach while watching the planes take off and land.
San Juan was great, but we set sail at 2pm, which left us very little time to explore the city on our own.
We did walk to the fort, did some shopping at the town square and had lunch at a charming restaurant.
Spent the day at the beach and enjoyed the complimentary bar-b-que lunch.
Biggest problem at Labadee is catching a tram. They fill quite quickly and there were only two shuttling passengers to and from the beaches.
We took the advice of our waiter and spent the day at Columbus beach. No crashing waves, soft sand and less people.
