The weather was beautiful, the ports all welcoming and interesting and the ship was beautiful.

We are a newly retired couple and we have cruised quite a bit - this was our 3rd cruise with Princess. We booked this cruise because of the cost and the fact that we liked the employees onboard our last Princess cruise; they were always friendly and helpful. This was our first time booking an Oceanview Cabin instead of one with a Balcony and sadly, it will be our last. We missed our balcony terribly! We were in Cabin E505 and the size was adequate but much smaller than we are used to. We had an obstructed view but could see out just fine. This cabin was one that can hold an additional 2 people (OH MY!) so the queen bed was under the window and the fold down beds against the walls - it did make navigating at night from the bed to the bathroom a bit of a hunched over challenge, but we managed just fine. The bathroom was small but pretty standard and had enough room for everything. I am plus-sized and although the shower was tiny I managed to stay clean the entire trip without too much of a problem.

Okay, the negatives: --Too many people. This was especially noticeable when going ashore at the ports, always lines and congestion. In Boston, the ship docked late and we had purchased tickets for the shuttle bus. We arrived at our designated time in the Island Dining Room and went to board our bus but the line to exit the ship began in the Island Dining Room, around the Atrium to the first Art Gallery hallway, across the corridor at the end, then back up the second Art Gallery Hallway into the Atrium then to the gangplank. We began at 10:15 (our designated time) and arrived at Quincey Market at 12:15 - it was a long time. The congestion was also noticeable after the shows when people would line up to eat, and in the afternoon for the performances in the Atrium. On our sea day, the ship seemed very crowded and there were few places to just sit and relax. Of course, it was a bit cool on deck so everyone was gathered inside. --The beds - oh my, the beds. Awful. The worst we've ever had. Hopefully, Princess will see fit to improve these. --The general condition of the cabin - okay. But the carpet was dirty with stains, our shower curtain in the bathroom was stained, the duvet was stained and when the sun would shine on our bedding you could see the yellowing condition. The beach towels were a bit worn but the towels in the bath were excellent. The cabin was clean and maintained well by our steward.
