We were given this cruise as a Christmas gift. We've never cruised before or even thought about one, and when we were offered it, weren't sure, but agreed to go. A trip to Halifax, St. John's, Bar Harbor and Portland wasn't exactly on our bucket list, but what the heck!

We were very pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed the cruise. It started when we met our steward, Cedric and got better from there. He took very good care of us and we had some fun conversations with him. We found the whole staff and crew to be friendly and helpful and always willing to stop and lend a hand or answer questions.

We had a balcony cabin on deck 9 that was cozy and comfortable. Family members were next door, so we asked to have the adjoining door opened and that made our stay better, being able to communicate without having to go out in the hall first. The bed was comfy and there was plenty of storage for bags and clothes.

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BA

Small but nice. The sofa could be a little more comfortable, but probably because it converts to a bed that might not be possible. It's well equipped and there's plenty of room for clothes and luggage.

Port Reviews

New York (Manhattan)

It's great fun to sail past Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty on the way out.

Portland (Maine)

We walked around Portland and took in the Pirate show at the Science Museum and that was very interesting. We thought it was for kids, but it's really a more adult venue.
