We chose this ship for the amenities. We wanted something for all our children (10-17) to have fun with. Between the 4 pools, many hot tubs, 2 slides, dry slide and 2 flow riders, there was plenty to keep them busy having fun. The shows offered in the evening, were very professional and enjoyable...we saw most of them. The FINE LINE was a water show that you definitely shouldn't miss.
The food was more than plentiful and really good. We only ate in the main dining room 3 dinners. We are a family that doesn't like to sit that long and get dressed up. We did the 2 formal nights...which was fun. The rest of the time, we ate in the Windjammer which we loved. Variety of food offered was incredible and you could just serve yourself.
We did both RC excursions and excursions that we booked on our own. We definitely liked the ones on our own better. The RC one felt like were to structured and large. No ability to improvise. We were especially disappointed in Cozumel. We went to Chankanaab Park for the dolphin push, pull excursion. There was supposed to be time afterwards to snorkel.. The tour ended at 2;30 and the ship was leaving at 6:30. I asked the guide if we could just get a taxi back on our own instead of leaving so early and he said no...too hard to get a taxi and the park closed at 3:00. So, after the dolphin swim and picking out pictures (can't take your own and they are SUPER expensive) we ended up only having 45 minutes to rent equipment and snorkel. The park was still open and packed when we left and then we were dropped off in a shopping area outside the cruise area where we obviously were expected to shop. Next time, I would have checked with the actual park official and taken a taxi back. I felt like it was part of their directive to get us back shopping!
Our cabin was amazing. It was on the port side near the front of the ship. I'm prone to motion sickness but NEVER had a problem. We ended up bringing my young son into the room with us to give the other 3 kids more room in their room and even with his stuff we had plenty of room. There were two big closets and plenty of drawers that my husband and I were able to unpack all our clothes. I just kept my sons in a suitcase under the bed which I would just pull out when needed. There was also a desk with a light and the bathroom was good sized. We slept every night with the balcony open to hear the ocean...it was the BEST.
