We chose this cruise because we wanted to experience one and decide if we would like to do it again. Additionally, we got a good deal through Costco's Travel Service. My wife and I loved it and, despite a few negative reviews that some people posted online, we found that the service and dining were great. Frankly speaking, anyone who was bored on this cruise or gripes about the food and service only have themselves to blame for not participating in the available activities or they're either just impossible to please or are jaded travelers who have "seen it all, done it all". We were very impressed with the Waiters and Waitresses in the Washington Upper Dining Room (The Head Waiter and his staff were great!) who were all welcoming and attentive to our needs and provided good suggestions about menu items. Additionally, We truly enjoyed the Mayan Ball Game and dance performances at the Kun Che Park as well as sampling Mayan Cuisine and also sampling some delicious Tequila. This was our first cruise, but we don't plan for it to be our last because we're looking forward to the next one.
our Cabin Steward (Antonina) was very attentive and efficient. The cabin size was better than we expected it to be and was very comfortable during the rare times when we were in it, which was only when we went to bed because there were too many activities aboard ship and on shore to take part in every day.
Initially I was turned off by the gruff attitude of the Cop at the Gate of the "A" Parking Lot, but the rest of the Parking Attendants were warm and welcoming which made up for my initial negative impression of Galveston.
Watched a fast-paced Mayan Ball Game, learned a little about the Mayan Culture, watching some fine dancing, ate some tasty Mayan cuisine and sampled some of the best and smoothest Tequila I've ever tasted (took 2 bottles home with me).View All undefined undefined Reviews
Didn't go on an excursion, but did do some shopping away from the shops that were immediately at the end of the pier. In fact, we did all of our shopping away from shops immediately at the end of the pier (where the prices seemed higher than elsewhere).
