We chose this cruise at the last minute because we needed a vacation and didn't have to fly to get to the ship. Overall, this trip was great. When driving to the Galveston port it's important to note that the easiest way to assure things go smoothly is to drop off a passenger and the luggage at the port and then have a driver go park the car and ride the shuttle back. Parking was very secure and inexpensive (only $65 for the week). The embarkation process itself is well organized and easy to follow. Once onboard, you begin to experience the magic that is Royal Caribbean right away. You are immediately greeted with smiles and friendly staff wanting to cater to you. The ship, although older, has been recently updated in areas and is very clean. Liberty is a great size with many different activities to attract all ages. We prefer to explore and take it easy on day 1, therefore we usually arrive an hour before boarding time so we are allowed the most opportunities and time possible. The entertainment on this ship was amazing! Every show, every night brought something new and entertaining. The food in the Windjammer and the Main dining room was enjoyable as always. We don't normally visit the specialty restaurants. The Promenade is beautiful and has a variety of establishments to visit. In Roatan we did the Maya Key Resort excursion. It was a beautiful beach area and had the animal habitat that was quite interesting. The capuchins monkeys were so fun. Traditional Honduran lunch was provided and was delicious. In Costa Maya we did the Reef snorkel by boat. My husband thoroughly enjoyed this snorkel and we saw fish, squid, star fish, and several large sea turtles. In Cozumel we took a ferry to Playa del Carmen and visited Rio Secreto. THis was by far one of the best excursions we've ever taken. This underground cave and river are amazing! This is a must for anyone who loves nature at it's best! Please note though that EVERYTHING you will need for this tour is provided (wetsuit, water shoes, life jacket, helmet, towels, etc) You don't need to bring anything with you from the ship. There is also no photography allowed but they will take plenty of wonderful pictures you may purchase. For those days when we were just cruising there are so many activities it's hard to choose what to do, unless you want to crash in alounge chair and there are plenty of those too!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

I'm not sure ecaxtly what stateroom rating this balcony room was but the size was comperable to all other balcony rooms we've had in the past. The balcony was a bit smaller than some but we were located on the "jut out" area of the ship so the view was wonderful. The cabin was very clean and in good shape. the only slight complaint would be a small leak in the shower floor near the toilet...nothing the floor mat couldn't absorb though.
