Sail Date: Jun 2017

Having previously cruised the Rhine 2 years ago with a different cruise line, we decided to try The Danube on Emerald Sun.

Embarkation was very smooth and efficient and we were greeted by cheerful and smiling crew. We had a problem with luggage as, due to disruption at Heathrow airport, our bags could not be loaded onto the flight before we left London. Credit to BA -they flew the bags out on the next flight and they were delivered to the ship at about 11:45pm.

The ship is very modern and spacious with excellent public areas. Having been built in 2015, everything is bright and fairly new. Panoramic floor to ceiling windows are everywhere, making the views spectacular from almost anywhere on the ship.

Cabin Review

Cabin Panoramic Balcony Cabin

The cabin was large and spacious. The internal balcony with opening panoramic window is great. Shower room was also spacious. Bed was very comfortable, although could have been improved by use of king sized sheets and quilt as the two single beds pushed together with single bedding were not ideal. Large flat screen TV with good selection of movies and news programmes.
