Traveling with a family group of 10- 2 seniors, 4 adults, and 4 children (8, 5, 2, 1). Everyone loved the Alaska scenery, but we truly loved the personalized service of Ricardo and others that made each dinner special despite the challenge of so many little ones and my allergy precautions. The servers knew each of us by name and quickly learned our preferences, and showed Exceeding patience with our little ones who were no always on best behavior.
The Princesses - - particularlyTiana; the Characters- esp. Chip and Dale and Pluto, and the musicians -- particularly the Summerwinds duet and Ben on Saxophone at Tiana's place-- were super in engaging with customers graciously and providing marvelous entertainment.
Bam made sure our cabin was always refreshed and ready; again, the people on our hall all recognized the kids by name, and they felt right at home-- and we loved it!
Liked our cabin and views from two portholes was enough to satisfy our ability to wake up and see the world and where we were. Spent more outside viewing time on the decks anyway.
Enjoyed city, but HoponHopoff shuttle was too overcrowded, so we could not board two shuttles which were less frequent than predicted. Wasted a lot of time which meant we could not fit what we had planned for our one full day of shuttle use. We would have been better off in taxis and saved money. We had expected to be able to get off and on, but after standing over 40 mins.,before we could get on the first time, and after waiging in a long line and not getting on a couple of shuttles again at Stanley Park, by the time we finally got a shuttle, we were afraid to get off for a view in Stanley Park, because we were afraid we'd get stuck again not getting on.
When we were at Canada Place, waiting for a transfer, we had to wait overly long time and there were not enough shuttles to accommodate long lines despite having prepurchased "reservations", and no place to sit nearby for Seniors while waiting. Tour people kept disappearing between long waits for shuttle arrivals, the line was a little disorganized, very frustrating.
Very Walkable town. Enjoyed the time in port, but with the electricity off in town half of the time we were docked, I could not do the shopping I had intended. Fortunately, we had done our Southeast Alaska National Park Service Discovery Center visit already before the electricity went off. The films were great; the displays/exhibits were engaging, informative, and appealing to young and old alike; the staff were VERY helpful, friendly, hospitable, and informative.
