Boarding the ship in Southampton was quick and easy. From the start of our 14 day Mediterranean cruise the service was outstanding. We were fortunate enough to be in the Royal Suite and took full advantage of the concierge room where we met a group of fun people nightly for drinks before dinner. Jackie was absolutely the best Concierge we have experienced on Royal.

The suite was gorgeous and was a fitting backdrop for celebrating my 60th and my daughters graduation. Romeo kept it spotless under Spiky's watchful eye.

For dinners we alternated between Windjammer, Dinning Room and Specialty. My suggestion is scan the Dinning Room menu and if nothing strikes find an alternative. The specialty choices were just Giovanni's and Chops. We found all the food top notch. The ship could use Sabor and Izumi for some variety. I heard they may be coming during next year's refit.

Besides having to fix the piano on the second day what can you say. Opulence has its own set of issues. Nothing short of fantastic. We've been on many cruises and this was a real treat. It's going to take a while to to be able to go back to our normal cruise life.
